Strathclyde Computers was established in 2004. Prior to that we had been providing a similar service, since 1999, as part of the MicroSolutions (Glasgow) group.

Our service is entirely onsite although larger jobs, such as back-up/restore and intensive virus removals, are undertaken (often through the wee small hours) in our workshop just outside Paisley. We provide IT support, at all levels, for both business and home users.

For business account users we prioritise in times of crisis and can, if required, provide loan machines and data transfer. In other cases we can provide a new 'business' grade PC within 24 hours ( see hardware section)

Developments

mobo After so many years of grappling and resolving so many Microsoft related issues we are currently testing dual boot (Windows/Linux) configurations for both the home user and business clients.

The success of the Firefox browser and OpenOffice (coupled with the abject failure that is Vista) has changed the landscape for Open Source solutions and, in the latter part of 2009, we will be offering dual-boot systems as standard as well as providing a migration and training service for small business users that would like to move to a better security model.
